Sports Lab has a Sports Physician on site, as well as an Obesity & Metabolic Health doctor. We also have access to orthopaedic surgeons and other specialists throughout Sydney, Australia & Internationally.
Dr Danielle Jolly - Sports Physician
Dr Jolly works in clinical practice in Sydney at Hills Sports Medicine and Sports Lab. She is also one of the doctors at the NSW Institute of Sport, is the doctor for the Australian Women’s Rowing Team and was the Chief Medical Officer for the Winter Youth Olympics travelling with the Australian team in 2024. Danielle is a former elite athlete, having rowed for Australia.
Prior to moving into Sport and Exercise Medicine, Danielle was a GP working in rural, remote and indigenous communities. She is passionate about health equity, health outcomes, patient-centred care and equitable access to health care.
What is sports medicine?
Sports medicine can be defined as a medical speciality or field that deals with both the prevention and treatment of injuries resulting from the practice of sports. Sports medicine studies the effects of physical exercise and applies this knowledge for preventive and therapeutic purposes in order to maintain the health of individuals and contribute to the prevention of injuries that may result from physical exercise.

Dr Georgia Rigas - Obesity & Metabolic Health Specialist & GP
Dr Georgia Rigas is a high-profile and passionate GP with nearly 25 years of clinical experience across Australia, the UK, and New Zealand. Over the past two decades, her work has been dedicated to the management of obesity and cardiometabolic health, earning her international recognition as a pioneer in this evolving field.
Her approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centred. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams to support people living with obesity and related conditions, including insulin resistance, PCOS, infertility, joint pain, sleep apnoea, and hypertension. She has a special interest in guiding women through the menopause transition.
A passionate public health advocate, Georgia has addressed Parliament House alongside patient advocates to drive national reform in obesity care access.
