Temperature Testing Guide

This procedure shall apply to all employees, contractors, clients and anyone visiting Sports Lab Clinics. No personnel or client shall be exempt from testing procedures.

As a preventative measure Sports Lab may conduct temperature checks. Temperature screening shall ensure that personnel and clients with a fever (greater than 37.5°C) are restricted from entry into Sports Lab Clinics.

Any staff member or client that have any symptoms related to the Covid-19 Virus,

  • temperature of greater than 37.5°C,
  • fever,
  • dry cough,
  • sore throat or
  • respiratory issues shall self-isolate and not come into the clinic.

They shall inform their Manager/Alison Ferris and may contact local health authorities for advice.

All staff and clients shall follow fundamental controls e.g. regular handwashing, no physical contact and follow the 1.5 metre physical distance (social distancing) rule to minimise close contact. If any symptoms develop, staff must self-isolate.

Re-testing time frames

  • Temperature reading greater than 37.5°C shall be subject to further testing after a period of 10 minutes.
  • Temperature reading after 10 minutes greater than 37.5°C will be turned away and a COVID 19 test requested where a negative result must be returned back to Sports Lab.

Guidelines

Tester must notify the Manager (Alison Ferris) and manager on site of the staff member that tested temperature greater than 37.5°C.

A person may only return to work once their temperature readings are 37.5°C or below for
a period of two consecutive days and no other symptoms of COVID-19 are present.

If a person has tested positive for COVID-19 by a medical professional, they must not
return to work until they produce a negative test result.

Provided temperature reading greater than 37.5°C the person is entitled to be paid out of accrued sick leave hours (obviously, this is only applicable to Sports Lab team members), subject to the usual deductions for use of sick leave.

Your privacy in the instance of temperature reading greater than 37.5°

To manage the COVID-19 crisis, sensitive health information and other personal data will need to be collected to take protective measures (e.g. symptoms, positive for COVID-19, personal travel).
Temperature reading greater than 37.5°C after 10 minutes– Site Manager and Covid-19 coordinator will be notified.

Temperature reading greater than 37.5°C for more than 24 continuous hours – positive employee’s identification may necessarily need to be disclosed to some people when performing contract tracing.
